Payment, Enrolment & Cancellation Policy
Please read carefully before registering.
Payment Policy
The following payment options are available:
Option 1 – Online Payment
Payments made through PayPal, Credit Card, or Debit Card will incur an additional 4% service charge, applied to the total including HST.
Option 2 – Certified Cheque
Certified cheques must be made payable to Niagara School of Foot Care.
Please email the school to request this payment option.
Total payment will include program cost or supplies plus HST.
Option 3 – eTransfer
Please email the school to request eTransfer payment details.
Total payment will include program cost or supplies plus HST.
Mandatory Requirements
To participate in the Nursing or PSW Foot Care Course and related webinars, students must meet the following requirements:
Access to a computer and reliable internet connection
A computer equipped with speakers or headphones and a microphone for participation in online sessions
Additional Requirements for PSW Distance Course
Students enrolled in the full distance PSW course must:
Have the ability to record videos using a phone or tablet
Secure their own volunteer for practical components
(Volunteers are not provided by the school.)
Mentorship Course Requirements
Students enrolling in the Mentorship Course must provide:
A Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past six months
Proof of liability insurance
These documents must be submitted before providing any hands-on care to clients.
Students must also secure their own volunteer for practical training.
Nursing & PSW Foot Care Course Enrolment
A $200 registration fee is required to enroll in the Nursing or PSW Foot Care Course.
This fee is included in the total tuition cost.
To secure your placement in the course:
The course must be purchased at least two weeks prior to the scheduled start date
If the minimum number of participants is not met, you will be notified
Payment plans are available upon request.
Please contact the school if you would like to discuss this option.
Cancellation Policy
(Nursing and PSW Foot Care Courses)
Cancellations made at least seven (7) days before the course start date will incur a $200 cancellation fee.
Cancellations made less than seven (7) days before the start date will result in the $200 enrolment fee being forfeited.
Once the course has started:
No refunds will be issued for full tuition fees due to:
Failure to complete the course
Absences
Missed online or in-class sessions
Attendance is mandatory for both online and in-class components.
Self-directed courses must be completed within six to eight months from the start date.
Payment Plan Policy
Students enrolled in a payment plan must complete full payment before:
Receiving the foot care kit
Participating in any in-class sessions
Course Fee Reimbursement
Niagara School of Foot Care reserves the right to cancel any course if minimum participant numbers are not reached before the start date.
If a course is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, students will be offered the option to:
Transfer to the next available course date, or
Receive a full refund of the registration fee
Niagara School of Foot Care also reserves the right to deny applications to courses or webinars if eligibility requirements are not met. In such cases, all fees will be refunded.
Webinar Policy
There are no refunds for webinars unless the minimum number of participants is not reached.
Class Size
To maintain quality instruction, class sizes are limited.
Minimum: 2–5 students
Maximum: 10 students
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Niagara School of Foot Care
Will I become a Certified Foot Care Nurse after completing the course?
At this time, there is no national certification program for Foot Care Nurses in Canada. However, certification may become available in the future. (May 2026)
Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate of Acknowledgement of Completion in Basic and/or Advanced Foot Care.

Is the Basic or Advanced Foot Care Program Accredited?
Currently, there are no formally accredited Foot Care Nursing programs in Ontario.
However, the Niagara School of Foot Care programs are recognized by:
Veterans Affairs Canada
Holman Insurance Brokers Ltd. (PSW Insurance Canada)

Can I receive reimbursement through the Nursing Education Initiative (NEI)?
Students will receive documentation confirming successful completion of the course, which may be required when applying for funding.
The Nursing Education Initiative (NEI) is administered through:
Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO)
Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO)

Is financial support available for the Basic or Advanced Foot Care Programs?
Yes.

What makes the Niagara School of Foot Care program unique?
The Niagara School of Foot Care is currently the only dedicated foot care education program located in the Niagara Region.
The program is taught by experienced Foot Care Nurses who have worked extensively in:

Why are the courses offered online and through webinars?
The Niagara School of Foot Care programs are designed with adult learners and working healthcare professionals in mind.
Many students have demanding work schedules and family commitments that make attending full-day classroom sessions difficult.
Online learning allows students to:
Participate from the comfort of home
Avoid commuting
Learn at a manageable pace
Complete material through smaller modules
The Basic and Advanced Foot Care Programs are divided into eight smaller modules, delivered weekly to support better information retention and understanding.
Webinars are live and interactive, allowing students to ask questions and engage directly with the instructor.
Will I receive a certificate after completing the program?
Yes.
Students who successfully complete the Basic and/or Advanced Foot Care Program will receive a Certificate of Acknowledgement of Completion.
For Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN):
This certificate may be used when applying to become a registered provider with Veterans Affairs Canada.
For Personal Support Workers (PSW):
The certificate may be used to apply for professional liability insurance through Holman Insurance Brokers Ltd..
When are the in-class training sessions scheduled?
In-class training dates are scheduled after the course begins.
A group scheduling survey will be sent to students to determine the most suitable date for the final in-class session.
Webinar sessions may be offered:
One-on-one (1:1)
In small groups
Dates and times are arranged to accommodate student availability whenever possible.
Do I need liability insurance to take the course?
Personal Support Workers (PSW):
Liability insurance is not required to enroll in the Basic Foot Care Program. However, the importance of obtaining liability insurance will be discussed during the course.
Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN):
For information regarding liability protection and professional requirements, please consult the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Do I need a computer to attend the webinars?
No.
Students may participate in webinars using:

Tablet
iPad
Smartphone
Webinars are delivered using the Zoom platform.
Will I receive a T2202A Tuition Tax Form?
No.
Only Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) are authorized to issue the T2202A Tuition Tax Form.
The Niagara School of Foot Care will provide students with a payment receipt for their records.
Is mentorship automatically included after completing the course?
Mentorship is not automatically included.
Students who complete the Basic and Advanced Foot Care Programs may apply for the Mentorship Program or choose to receive 1:1 Foot Care Coaching Support.

What is 1:1 Coaching Support?
1:1 Coaching Support provides guidance as students begin developing their foot care practice or business.
Coaching may include opportunities to observe foot care services in various care environments such as:
Long-term care homes
Clinics
Home care settings
Please note that hands-on practice is not included during coaching sessions due to liability and risk considerations.
Students seeking hands-on clinical experience should apply for the Mentorship Program.

Student Complaint & Dispute Resolution Policy
